Menya Miyabi Hokkaido Ramen 麺や雅 @ Queensbay Mall

Ramen with the taste all the way from Hokkaido, Japan. Menya Miyabi had its first Malaysian outlet in Penang at Queensbay Mall.
Here's the location.

The man in white is the Japan chef who's here to supervise the shop. We've been told that he'll leave Penang in Feb 2014 and the shop will be taken over by the Japanese Chef's Malaysian apprentice.

Tonkotsu Ramen (Pork Broth Flavour) 豚骨ラメン RM23.00

The taste of the Tonkotsu soup was milder than expected. Perhaps this is how Tonkotsu Ramen taste like in Hokkaido?

Miyabi Shoyu Ramen (Soy Sauce Flavour) 雅醤油ラメン RM22.00

Yaki-Miso Ramen (Fried Soybean Paste Flavour) 焼き味噌ラメン RM23.00

I reckon that this was the best of the three ramen we ordered. :p

Hakka Village 浮羅山背客家山寨 @ Balik Pulau

The Hakka Village of Penang in Balik Pulau. This was advertised on the LCD billboard near Queensbay Mall and also on Facebook. It's a place for suburban homestay and they serve Hakka dishes too.

Cars are not allowed to go in further.

We had to resort to the simplest kind of transportation; walking. It's about 2km walk and a little bit climb. We could actually call the village so that they'll send some to pick us up to the village by a 4-wheel drive at the cost of RM5 per person for a round trip if you plan to eat there too. Otherwise, it'll be RM10.

Transport + Meal = RM35 per person
Transport only = RM10 per person
Meal only = RM30 per person

Reached at last!! It was after about 30 minutes walk. We were drenched in sweat. Haha.
