Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone

The Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone are in 4 phases as shown in the picture below.

It was initiated by the second Chief Minister of Penang, the late Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu. The Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone was started to develop in early 1970's. It was, then, known as Bayan Lepas Free Trade Zone, and today, this name is still used to denote Phase I and II of the industrail zones.

Phase I is the oldest phase of the 4 phases and it has companies such as:
