The interesting thing is that people here dine while holding a piping hot bowl of Hokkien Mee with just bare hands. They will either do so while standing, squatting, on the bike or even inside the car because there was only a table with a few chairs. Even, the table and chairs were left there by a beverage stall that ran there too previously. So, there were no table and chairs from the start. This stall was actually mobile. They used to sell Hokkien Mee from places to places.
There were many people will still dine there, even though there weren't many seats and one's hand has to withstand holding the scalding hot bowl of Hokkien Mee. The Hokkien Mee soup was kept warm using charcoal flame.

Hokkien Mee RM3.20 (Large) Advice: One really should bring along glove or hand towel to hold this steaming hot bowl. |
Hokkien Mee was passed down by Chinese ancestor who came from Fujian Province. In Fujian, it's called 夏面 (Summer noodle) and was made of prawn soup too but the Penang version is spicier due to chilli.
